ANNOUNCEMENTS
The PMSPTO is proud to partner with CAST
(Citizens & Students Together)
NEXT PTO MEETING
March 19, 2012 @ 6:30 p.m. at PMS Library.
The PTO volunteers are dwindling as many parents have 8th graders who
are moving on to the high school. In order for the great events like Dances
and School Store to continue, the PTO needs volunteers! Why join
PTO? The meetings are brief...we PROMISE! Monday from 6:30-8 only once
a month (if needed!). Time commitments are minimal and the activities
and fundraising don't take up much time when there is lots of support.
It is a great opportunity to get involved with the school and community.
Most importantly, the students of PMS enjoy the benefits!
NEXT PMS SCHOOL DANCE
March 30, 2012
Sponsored by the RED TEAM! Chaperones needed!
Veteran PTO members are moving on and we need new volunteers to learn the
ropes needed to keep the dances going! We are currently seeking a Dance
Coordinator!
SCHOOL STORE
Just like the dances, PMS students enjoy shopping at the school store
with their Pride Tickets they have earned. The store is an easy and anyone
can volunteer for once a week or once a month! It's a great opportunity
help and keep the positive rewards going!
WREATH FUNDRAISER
Thank you to Shelly Pezza for supplying the beautiful wreaths and
Trish Trinque, Ann Harwood and other PTO Volunteers for coordinating the
fundraiser.
COMING UP!
SPRING AVON FUNDRAISER
Orders will be ready for deliver the last week of March for Spring Holidays.
Keep an eye out for catalogs and order forms soon! Did you know in the
past, fundraisers help defer some of the costs for buses for field trips?
Thank you to Michelle Harkness for helping out the PTO with this fundraiser!
WELLNESS FAIR
We will have a booth this year at the fair to
promote the importance of skin protection. Sunscreen and insect repellents
will be available for purchase and will also support the Avon Fundraiser.
The PTO will raffle a "Summer Fun In The Sun" gift basket. Another
opportunity to meet the PTO members and fill out BCI forms if interested

DANCE
TRAFFIC DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP POLICY
September 2010
Traffic Pattern for the Dances
In our continuous effort to ensure the safety of our students and for
your convenience, we will continue with the dismissal procedure and traffic
pattern at the end of all dances this school year. This pattern was used
all last year and once everyone got the hang of it, things went very smoothly.
Drop off: Students should be dropped off at the back entrance
to the school - all parents are to enter the first driveway and follow
the one-way pattern toward the back of the school.
Pick up: Students will exit at the back entrance of the school
- all parents are to enter the first driveway and follow the one-way pattern
toward the back of the school and continue into the parking lot in the
back of the school. Each driver should pull into the individual parking
spaces and face the school building; parking spaces along the perimeter
of the parking lot should be backed into so drivers are facing into the
parking lot and able to drive out of each parking space so no one has
to back out of a parking space. Students will exit the building and go
to their parents/designated drivers' cars.
Parents, who do not make it into the parking lot, will be directed to
pull up to the cones in the driveway. Please form two lanes of traffic
on the road (around the school) as you follow the road to the rear of
the building - no one will be allowed to park "at the door".
All cars will park in the parking lot and/or road to pick up your children.
All students will be directed to the parking lot and road when it is safe
to do so. You are welcome to get out of your car to meet your children
in the school yard by the rear door of the building and escort them to
your cars.
Once most of the cars are loaded with students, the police officer will
direct all cars to exit the road and parking lot continuing in the same
direction all the way around the school and exit through the second driveway.
Signs will be posted and a police officer will direct traffic as well
as PTO members who will be assisting with the direction of the traffic
and the students.
Please do not park on Route 102 (state highway)or Rustic Hill Road as
this poses a danger to students, you, and others using Route 102. Any
student who leaves the pavement to find parents in the driveway or road
will be restricted from the next dance.
As always, your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated as we
work to assure both convenience and safety at the end of our dances.
